Mathematicians are not sociable - or so they say. Actually that isn't quite true and some of aforementioned people are making an effort. While the initial statement may still hold on average, there was a nice cocktail party organised by our cafeteria people. Cocktails were quite cheap and - most importantly - well done.
I stuck around long enough to not get into the housewarming party that I meant to go to anymore - probably because people there were too wasted to hear or care for the door bell at that time.
