To finish the week in style, I gave a seminar talk on the axiomatic approach toTopological (Quantum) Field Theory based on the not very detailed 1988 article by Michael Atiyah and more detailed notes by R.J. Lawrence. We got kind of stuck when starting to look at the proper category theoretical language to formulate the axioms in. Unfortunately the non-trivial examples are quite tricky and require a lot of background knowledge. When it turned out that our designated speaker for next week's session can't make it, Victor figured I could just give another talk next week, giving an introduction to K3 surfaces. That'll be a fun last week of term. Victor and me also agreed on meeting more regularly now, to put a sharper focus on my work.
