The weather changed from lovely and sunny to a complete downpour of rain. Annoying. I meant to go downtown and to my office but now I might just stay in.
My Powerbook's battery has lost a lot of its capacity since the beginning of the year. I am all the way down to 1,6Ah (from almost 3Ah of the 4Ah or so original value in December). That's far less than two hours. Reading up a bit on this I completely de-charged it by running the battery low and then rebooting in single user mode, letting it run even lower. Allegedly the capacity is up to 2170mAh again now. Perhaps I'll do the trick again and hope that things stabilise in a somewhat reasonable region.
Perhaps I should make some waffles.
Apple replaced my powerbook battery in a recent repair, without explaining why — and after they said “we can’t find anything wrong”. I’m suddenly up to 3 hours of battery life again. I took a screenshot. I suspect it’ll fade back to 2h10m shortly, as usual.
Apple’s replacement strategies during repair seem to be quite odd.
I used to get around 4 hours when my Powerbook was new. And over 3 hours in OSX. Then I was down to 2,5 hours for a long time. I could have lived with that. But recently I’m only seeing 1,5 hours or so, which isn’t enough.
(What kind of Powerbook / battery are you seeing these times on?)
Well, it happened first with a 500, then it happened with the DVI/667.
3 hours on a 500 shouldn’t be too bad. I only have a 400 and the 500s are said to be use quite a bit more energy.
Received data seems to be invalid. The wanted file does probably not exist or the guys at last.fm changed something.
