- Somehow I failed to comment on Michael Moore's new film winning the palme d'or in Cannes. Not that I am not entertained by his work – but shouldn't films starring pretty slightly underweight French girls win this kind of prize?
- I blame the Americans: First they infiltrated the jury and then they gave the prize to one of their peers.

Not being able to tell your ass from a hole in the ground
– an expression I learned this week. Apparently it's the American analogue to the ass/elbow thing they do in the UK. - The library was closed for no good reason today (although I suspect they just wanted to have a long weekend) – which reminds me of the song text in this post of course.
- What I really like about my iPod is that I can come home listening to it, put it back into its 'dock', turn on the stereo, then remove the the headphones and continue listening seamlessly.
- It's been really nice and sunny today. A barbecue will be next.
