I've recently been on a Libertines [live in Köln 2002, Live at eurosonic 2003, Don't look back into the Sun lyrics, L inspired Waster compilation CD, I know I'm bad...] listening binge. The band is brilliant but it's been a bit quiet around them. Drug and other trouble related. There's going to be a new album soon – probably one of the few I'm actively looking forward to. And there's a cool report in The Guardian. Let's hope the band makes it.
And what's that whole Apple vs. Real thing about. Aren't Apple being a bit up their own arses once more? How could Real's steps to work for the iPod be bad for Apple? If Apple really want to go through with keeping all the hardware and the software/music sales to themselves and being incompatible with everybody else they are bound to lose. They should have thanked Real for their approach where Real has all the trouble and Apple can sell more iPods.
Keith Robinson writes about individualism and kicks off an interesting discussion about forms of protests.
Die Zeit had an interesting report about Chinese tourists to Germany. They came to rent big cars and speed on the Autobahn. But they were surprised to also find a green countryside which is peaceful compared with Shanghai. Bottom line: All Germany's culture stands for is the Autobahn and: We're at the receiving end of tourism now.
Vertical navigation on web pages, while all novel and cute, still sucks because you can't 'space bar' through it.
