Festen, the first Dogma film, was shown on arty farty channel 3sat tonight. It’s been a while since I last saw it. And it remains one the most depressing and best films I know.

If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to. Just don’t plan to do anything afterwards.

I agree that it’s awesome, but I’ve interestingly found a theater interpretation of it even more exciting. Which, naturally, didn’t make use of the ‘Dogma’ idea at all, yet utilized interesting concepts. Played in Bremen last winter. Don’t know much about it, except naturally, its title (being the German version) was ‘Das Fest’.
