Season’s greetings

131 words

It’s the end of September and that means that it’s almost christmas. Which in turn means that they’ve been selling ‘seasonal’ sweets at the supermarkets for weeks. And obviously The wonderful Zapfino is bound to see plenty of use in the season’s advertisement crap. So colour me delighted when I found a Lebkuchen mail order catalogue for which they actually made use of more than just the standard glyph set of Zapfino and even did so in a nice way without being too brazen about it.

They still managed to do somewhat strange font combinations (close vicinity of Sans-serif + Zapfino + Franktur/Blackletter style font) and they also managed to just cut off letters of Zapfino elsewhere, but over all this is still better than what you see most days.
