I had to try out the little rice experiment that came to my mind last week. And as nice as the idea was, it didn’t live up to my expectations. With some of the condiments used for flavouring being transparent and the others being pretty similar shades of brown, the result wasn’t that visually appealing. It looked like rice, half of which was brown. Oh-ha!
And at the end of the day, the bits with sesame oil and Japanese soy sauce remained the ones I liked best. So I could have just stuck to those. The only interesting addition was that I put a bit of hoisin sauce at the very end. Will have to indulge that a bit more.
