198 words on T-Shirts
The second – and fully vegetarian – result of my recent trip to the T-Shirt makers is the ‘Addict’ shirt which my brother got:
So, erm, a barcode with the word ‘Addict’. Great. It only leaves the question what that addiction is about. That might be tricky. Apparently the initial ‘4’ hints that it’s a German barcode, but I’m not really sure about that. Scanning the shirt could’ve been another way to solve the puzzle, but I was told bar codes need to be printed dark on light and not the other way round. Actually I had planned to print it that way, but I could find a shirt that was sufficiently nice and of a light colour. Not being able to scan it hopefully won’t make the shirt much less useful.
But if you were able to scan the shirt, it’d probably add €1,39 or so to your bill. And you would’ve bought this:
Hmmmm…
And while the shirt doesn’t look bad the way it came out, it’s a shame that they printer mixed up the shirts while printing. I had specifically chosen a brown shirt for this one.

Nutella IS addictive!
Yet another terrific addition to your line. :-)
I’ve compiled a list of barcode t-shirts and this is a new one to me.
Where oh where can I find one?
I made the shirt myself, so if you really want one we could investigate how I could make another one for you.
And it’s a German nutella barcode… I’m not sure you’d want that exact one (or rather a local one, depending on where you’re from).
I was looking at pages created with Sandvox, and found your t-shirt site. Cool. I really liked the Carnivore shirt and the little story that goes with it. Then I followed the link to see which one you gave your brother. I absolutely cracked up! My darling vegetarian husband LOVES Nutella, and me, the born carnivore, couldn’t live without her ham.
I think we would buy t-shirts with vegetarian and carnivore and your little pictures. So cute.
I was thinking about adding those shirts to my t-shirt site, but I’ll have to negotiate a little with the T-Shirt people as they start charging for additional shirts you add if you’re not selling many.
If you’re living in the U.S., could you perhaps send me a photo of a barcode of a local Nutella glass. The barcode I am using now is from a specific German Nutella glass, and I think it makes more sense to have a local barcode on the Shirt. (I’d love to try out whether it scans properly at the supermarked checkout!)
hi, I am setting up a T shirt museum to help document great T shirt art and design. if you are interested please upload an image of your T at the museum - www.tshirts.me.uk
thanks jp
Sorry Lady S, but Nutella isn’t vegetarian, neither btw are ferrero rocher. The company that make them cannot guarantee that the whey used to make them isn’t animal derived, as rennet is used in the process of seperating whey from milk. the same sort of issue as vegetarian cheese.
I would love to order this nutella t-shirt for my cuz who is a Nutella finatic! How can I order one?
How can I order the Nutella barcode t-shirt??
@Julie: The nutella shirt isn’t currently available in a public store. If you are still interested in it, I can try and put it up on an online shirt site (EU? US?). Note that the barcode I use is one from a German nutella jar.
I must have this shirt!!!! Please let me know where to send my money for you to make one for me.
