Computers

Strictly speaking my computer usage started with some programmable calculator my dad bought in the 1980s and then extended to playing games and writings silly Basic stuff on my friend’s brother’s Schneider CPC-464. But my first own computer was an Atari ST from which I ‘graduated’ to a Mac.

I have been a Mac-only computer user ever since. And I was highly enthusiastic about Apple's computers in the 1990s. I still think they have the edge when it comes to software. But their hardware – while having comparatively good design – was a bit of a letdown in terms of engineering and manufacturing in the 00s and only improved when Apple introduced their ‘unibody’ aluminium designs.

These pages tell the story of the devices I owned, listing their strengths and their weaknesses.
