Canon AE-1 Osaka
Because of the power problems I had with my Canon EF I decided to just buy another used Canon FD camera. While EFs are quite hard to get and F1s are expensive, there are plenty of affordable Canon AE-1s on eBay these days. Ironically I got one with a broken battery door – but due to the AE-1's design that's mainly a cosmetic problem.
The AE-1 as an ultra smooth shutter release which works electro-magnetically and it worked well for me once I had bought a new battery which is required for the AE-1 to operate.
