I have been playing with cameras since I was very young. Growing up with my dad's old and low-tech camera's had the benefit of teaching me what all those numbers on the cameras mean. And being able to nick those cameras over time gave me access to a rather nice collection of analogue photography equipment along with a collection of nice lenses. Those have become particularly attractive since I started getting into black and white photography and developing films myself.
While I also had the opportunity to play with numerous digital cameras I only bought a single one so far as I find it very hard to strike the quality vs. size balance with those toys. Particularly so as none of them look like they have a durability close to that of the analogue cameras I used.
