After
having Brunch at Jan-Philipp's this morning, I went to the department to print the first few installments of the advent-calender I made for my flat: a Memory game featuring photos of us and our flat. Taking the photos was quite a bit of work - after all you need a hundred of them. But it is fun as well - thinking of interesting photos and making them look nice. I borrowed Stephie's digital camera for this. It's quite a cool 'large' camera that can do loads of nifty things and makes good pictures as well. To make things a bit more interesting I decided to not use exact duplicates, but only photos having the same topic, e.g. The Dishes, once while still dirty, once after they've been done etc.
Printing was a bit of a mess.
It turned out that my favourite image managing tool, Graphics Converter has a slight bug in its bulk printing feature and doesn't scale the images exactly to the size you specify. Anyway I worked my way throught it for the time being and filed a bug report. Normally the author is very helpful and probably it will be fixed soon. What was more of a bummer was the use of recycling paper in the department, even in the colour laser printer. The colours should be a bit brighter on proper white paper. So I stopped printing after the few images I needed for today's cards and will bring my own paper tomorrow. Nontheless, the quality is suprisingly good.
