iTunes 4.6 out today. Well, whatever – I couldn't detect any changes yet apart from the wireless speaker thing. And with just having looked at the preferences and not having tried it of course, it looks a bit like the quick hack I suspected. Let's hope that the hack was elaborate enough to make it extendable later on.
Looking at the iTunes update package, I keep wondering how efficient Apple's updates are. Surely there was no need to include all of iTunes' icons once more – or most of the help files.
And faster G5s. Who cares? The most expensive one seems to have water cooling. WTF. That's supposed to be for ultra-geeks only. Can't they just build computers that don't need that much life support? That's from the fan-less Cube to the quadruple watercooled wind-tunnel in how few years?
Please, no more 1960s, commentary in The Guardian. ––– But I still like the music.

I did like the
Content-type: multipart/alternative; boundary="who_decided_mime-boundaries_must_be_boring"
bit in the header, though.
The joy of being in a public university: a new kitchen (hooray!) not being installed for over a month, just sitting around – with the old kitchen already having been removed. The room not being repainted before putting in the new stuff. Our secretary warning us that there'll be a safety inspection, so we can hide our electric appliance. Nice idea – but the inspection is in three weeks' time. Finally our admin bringing down the system with all the accounts on it for maintence in the middle of a day two days in a row. Asking people to manually restore files which were changed in between.
