Apparently contact to the Pioneer 10 space probe has been lost. Somehow that's sad but it's probably still there, flying away from us.
Originally designed for a 21-month mission, Pioneer 10 exceeded all expectations and lasted more than 30 years.
Good engineering then. Hardly the kind of quality you see in other areas.
