Dan recently sent me a copy of Schott's Original Miscellany – a pretty little book full of useless trivia. Need to know about 'untimely popstar deaths' or looking for a list of all Bond films, complete with year, actor, Bond girl, villain and Bond car? It's all in there.

Google has occasionally seemed erratic to me. I only bumped into Google Watch the first time. It strengthens the feeling that Google's quasi-monopoly may have bad side effects. Particularly the – mostly superfluous – long-life cookie forces you to start thinking about privacy issues seriously.
