Remind me

I saw a program on Versiontracker called EventReminder today that looked like it could be competition for our very own GeburtstagsChecker in the area of free birthday reminders. Reading about it's changes and features reminded me very much of GeburtstagsChecker (it even included something about treating February 29), thus being the curious person that I am, I decided to have a closer look.

But the change log and basic feature set is where similarities ended. GeburtstagsChecker seems much sleeker and less buggy than EventReminder. Still, people give that program five stars on Versiontracker, although it's a rather large download it has obvious flaws like displaying the wrong name in the Dock and f*cking quitting my address book application. It also is really helpful in terms of user friendlyness

The dates in the file should be in chronological order for the year starting with January 1 and ending with December 31. If this is a problem it can easily be re-ordered (sorted) using Excel.

Using a multi 100€ application to sort lines that are eaten by a freeware application – clever! [I know, though, that AppleScript is quite weak when it comes to sorting arrays.]
