Reading habits, via Dave and This or That:
- Newspapers or magazines?
- Rather newspapers. There are very few good magazines.
- Books-on-tape or regular books?
- I can read, regular books suit me just fine, thanks. They also feel nicer. An audio-book can be nice for falling asleep, though.
- Paperback or hardcover
- Paperback. Hardcovers tend to be hellishly expensive. Also, I'd feel bad when treating a nice hardcover book badly
- Fiction or non-fiction
- Yes.
- Sci-Fi/Fantasy or romance novels
- No. But if I have to choose I'll go for the further. I quite liked Dune which probably qualifies as Fantasy and enjoyed Douglas Adams' and Stanislaw Lem's books – although there could be arguments on whether these qualify as Sci-Fi.
- Borrow from the library or buy books (either new or used).
- I like keeping the books after reading them, so definitely buy. Will also nick books from parents.
- Subscribe to magazines or buy on newsstand
- Newsstand gives me more choice and I can opt to not buy anything. I am seriously tempted to get a subscription of Uncut, though. Which isn't available on newsstands here.
- Current best-sellers or classic literature?
- Classics, I guess. Rather because there are few good bestsellers than as a matter of principle, though.
- Hillary Clinton or Harry Potter
- Although I tried to avoid it so far, I'd go for Harry. Hillary's book is said to be too long, boring and slick to be worth reading. (At your discretion, add a tasteful joke here about her not being dangerous enough to warrant reading her book before she comes to power.)
