Ansgar and me went out [I guess it's not worth linking to a dated flash-only website to be more specific] for some presumably good music yesterday. And surprisingly, they did play good music which I enjoyed. One thing was disturbing though, the audience was quite small and mostly under twenty if not younger – leaving us to feel fairly old. Intimidated by a bunch of teenagers. I don't like to think so, but it feels a bit odd and surely adds to the 'sad old git' factor.
Why so few people of our age? I don't really know, frankly. Surely not because people don't like going out. My fear is that it's a matter of bad taste. People apparently 'enjoy' themselves listening to creepy and cheesy 80s music or the braindead incarnations of pop marketing. Sick sad world.
On another note, I always find myself struggling with the American pronunciation: When singing along to songs by American bands – no sweat, I won't do that when anybody can hear it – I frequently find myself getting the stress of a few syllables wrong...
