It’s been a while since The Killers published their album Hot Fuss
and apart from Somebody Told Me being played a couple of times it seemed to be forgotten. However, for some reason, now their song Mr. Brightside is being played on telly and generally in public. Not too bad a song –a least it’s a bit uplifting and may go well with the seasonal advance and the hope that spring may finally come and stay.
Amusingly bits of the song sound just like Beethoven’s Freude schöner Götterfunken, or Ode to Joy as they say elsewhere. With Bright Eyes already having done a Road to Joy, this may become another great year for the good old Ludwig van.
