Apple released the update to OS X.4.3 which fixes dozens of glitches all over the place and comes in a correspondingly enormous size.
But, even more significantly, they released an Airport software update, which looks like it fixes the dreaded iBook RAM problem that more and more people came to see recently. Seeing that the note that comes with the update says
This update fixes reliability and resolves AirPort compatibility issues with certain third party 802.11 cards and access points for Mac OS X v10.4.3 and later.
this is rather surprising, as the problem didn’t look particularly third party
around here. But it’s still a good thing to finally be able to actually use the components I bought…
