We had fish yesterday: fried herring fillets with tiny bit of flour 'batter', rice and fried vegetables on the side. It's a quick dish to make and I like the taste of the herrings. One of our neighbours back in Bremen used to make these at the annual street party. Mine aren't quite as excellent as his, but I'm trying hard.
Although the fish are probably not extremely fresh, the herrings we got were fairly nice and the filleting was well-done with no blood or bones left whatsoever.
We had baklava which we got along with many other nice things at one of the nice local turkish food stores.
