Just a bag of links from the past week that clutter my desktop. I forgot where I got them from, so I'll omit the silly attributions. Just consider them to come from the usual suspects.

The sandwich project – collecting favourite sandwich recipes. I added my favourite cheddar and plum chutney sandwich. Will have to get one of those when I'm in England next week.
Anil Dash on the scam that is bottled water. No real news but a topic that doesn't get the coverage it deserves. I drink a lot of tap water these days but when living at some places in Coventry or visiting in large cities, I sometimes found the taste of the tap water rather bad and chlorine-ish. Not unhealthy but unpleasant. I can see why people enjoy water with a neutral taste in those situations. Just don't buy it from large soda companies...

Cartoonist Jamiri with another cartoon on 'Obst' – German for fruit – bemoaning that us Mac users don't get to enjoy all those sweet little viruses. Not as good as the original one, though.
A silly article trivialising the problems caused by credit cards. And being easily rebutted in the discussion that followed. Technology for cheaper debit-card style payments is readily available in most places. Although this may be difficult to understand for people in countries where personal cheques are still considered a useful method of payment.
Google's birthday seems to be the same day as mine. (Not as good as my brother, though, whose birthday is shared by the Mac).
Analysing Dubya's psyche. Scary. (Did Freud really use the Latin pronoun id? My impression was, he simply used Es, the German id.)
Updated iMacs and iPods. Even in Europe the large iPod is now around €510 for students. Consider me tempted.
A parody on the future of the music industry. Sounds a bit real as well.
