Sometimes the degenerate sweets just strike you. Hard. One of my long-time favourites are marshmallow easter eggs which I only know from South Africa. They are always placed around the supermarket checkouts there and back when I was little, I never got enough of them. So, when returning from South Africa this time I decided to bring a box, so my flatmates could get addicted as well. As ‘luck’ would have it, the only size of boxes they had when I went shopping were 48s, so I ended up bringing quite a few of the sweets with me. Enough to last until after easter.
The treat is an egg-shaped marshmallow that is thinly covered with chocolate. As an extra bonus there’s a yellow marshmallow inside the white outer one that’s the yolk! Biting through the slightly solid chocolate into the soft marshmallow is brilliant. And there were even little bunny stickers on the inside of each pack!
I was just writing about this little easter (cant get it anywhere else) masterpiece. I also remember the white, hard-shelled eggs with a milk-chocolate center, very much like a thick-shelled, egg-shaped smartie / m&m.
…and I forgot to add - I used your photo (which was how I found your blog) as an aid to my explanation as I’m not able to get hold of one myself. Hope you don’t mind.
Cool, great you liked it. Throwing in a link would have been nice, though.
