Safari Shortcuts

I quite like PithHelmet. In fact, I rather loathe the web without it. One feature I really liked in OmniWeb was that you could define ‘abbreviations’ for sites you liked to visit. Those abbreviations could contain variables, letting you enter search terms. PithHelmet lets you do that as well for Safari’s address bar, turning it into a more useful tool.

Just to share some simple rules that I’ve made to access sites more quickly.

I see the filtering aspect, yes; but about the shortcuts—-wouldn’t QuickSilver be much better suited for that? For example, from any application, I enter F12 im ENTER blowup ENTER and get exactly the same result without tediously navigating to the Safari URL bar before…

That’s a good method as well. I used to do the same in LaunchBar. But I’m currently checking whether I can get by without in X.4.

And in this case it’s working out nicely. Switching to Safari and entering an address isn’t too bad in my book.
