What’s wrong with Google?

157 words

About a week ago, just a few days after Steffen had finalised Ballerburg and put it up on the web, I checked whether it would be found at Google - after all a couple of download and retro-gaming sites had linked to it. I was very pleased to see that Google would find Ballerburg as well as our new, recently moved website along with its new address.

However, typing in the very same queries again this week, they wouldn't find our page for Ballerburg and they'd only find the old addresses of the earthlingsoft pages. Strange, isn't it?

Could it be that Google broke their index and had to restore it from backup? If yes, shouldn't they acknowledge this? After all many people - including myself - have come to rely on Google as the most efficient way to search the web. Or, in a bold move of overestimating our importance, are they censoring after all?

Has anyone observed that Google is not working for many hours now. Could anyone explain what has happened to Google? I can access only google news. and except for that nothing else is accessible.

Google.com has been hijacked again! Isn’t that creative. Try going to their index, google.com/index.html That will get you to your trusty google.
