The silly season over in the U.S. is nearing its end. And there’s hope we don’t need to follow reports about their elections anymore soon. Despite the über-complete media coverage, I am not sure that much more than the fact that Republical vice-presidential candidate is so utterly unsuited for the job that its not even funny, made it across the Atlantic.
And of course there’s Mr Obama. Who seems to be so eloquent and good on television that it seems a bit scary. He sounds reasonable but one wonders how much of all his good points will stick after coming to office. Is this just good PR or does he have the politics and the stamina to pull it through as well?
It really amused me to read in the paper (same story?) that when asked whom they’re voting for, people are saying
Tell them, we’ll vote for the nigger.
Racism may not be dead, but there could be hope that people are less serious about it.
As I am not going to have a say in this but the competence of the U.S. president has a tendency to affect people around the world, I suggest Americans go out and vote today in a constructive way.
