This evening I met Yassin after not having seem him for quite a while. We had a glass of wine and did some catching up and ranting about how bad the world is in general and our university in particular. The joy of studying non-mainstream subjects that are of no obvious utility to the business-types (and damn sure we are that they won't get any non-obvious clues) - your departments get drained of funds in favour of those new subjects which need to append 'science' to their name, so people know it's supposed to be at university.
Later on, I found a €5 gift voucher by amazon in my inbox. Seems to be some kind of loyalty scheme. Needless to say, I like being on the receiving end once in a while. Strangely, they wouldn't let me use it on my latest, non-dispatched order - so I had to cancel it and re-order everything. Strange.
