Compilations
I was asked to make a little compilation CD for a friend’s birthday party. It was supposed to be ‘popular’ and knowing that the audience would be a Robbie Williams loving crowd I quickly dumped that idea… and came up with something that has two or three songs in it which people might know and otherwise features songs that are any of cool, addictive or otherwise related to the people at the party. Unsurprisingly, I quite like listening to it:
- Caribou: Drumheller
- Arcade Fire: Headlights Look Like Diamonds
- Clap Your Hands Say Yeah: Is This Love?
- Razorlight: Golden Touch
- Shout Out Louds: Please Please Please
- The Cribs: Direction
- The Killers: On Top
- Maxïmo Park: Graffiti
- Mando Diao: White Wall
- Bloc Party: Banquet (Phones Disco Edit)
- Timid Tiger: Combat Songs & Traffic Fights
- Hard-Fi: Stars Of CCTV
- Chikinki: Like It Or Leave It
- Caribou: Pelican Narrows
- Patrick Wolf: The Libertine
- Kaizers Orchestra: Maestro
- The White Stripes: Blue Orchid
- Little Barrie: Free Salute
- Kings of Leon: Milk
- Brian Wilson: Old Master Painter / You Are My Sunshine
Sample most of it at iTMS and give me a nice star rating while you’re there…
